Cinematic documentary-style reenactment of the dramatic true story of British Airways Flight 5390 in 1990. A BAC One-Eleven passenger jet is cruising smoothly at high altitude over England at 17,000 feet on a clear day. Suddenly, a loud explosive bang as the left cockpit windshield panel blows out due to maintenance failure. Explosive decompression: fog fills the cabin instantly, papers and debris fly wildly. The captain, Tim Lancaster, is violently sucked halfway out the open window frame—his upper body and head exposed to howling 300+ mph winds and freezing cold outside, legs tangled inside on the controls. A brave flight attendant rushes in, grabs the captain's belt and legs with all his strength, holding on desperately as the plane shakes and descends rapidly. The co-pilot fights to regain control and land safely. Tense close-ups of strained faces, wind whipping violently, oxygen masks dropping in the cabin, panicked but professional crew responses. Passengers bracing. Epic aerial shots of the damaged plane flying with the pilot partially outside the fuselage. Dramatic lighting, intense sound design with roaring wind, alarms, and heroic music swell.
